The Centennial Hall, a landmark in the history of reinforced concrete architecture, was erected in 1911-1913 by the architect Max Berg during preparations for an exhibition commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Nations. It was the largest building of its kind at the time of construction. In form it is a symmetrical quatrefoil with a vast circular central space where 6,000 people can seat. The dome is 23 m high made in steel and glass. After the memorial events, it served as multi-purpose recreational building, situated in the Exhibition Grounds.
