2004 - Muzakow Park

12 park muzakowski

Muzakow Landscape Park occupying more than 1700 acres stretches on both sides of the Nysa Luzycka River that constitutes the Polish – German state border. The park’s founder, Prince Hermann von Puckler-Muskau, inspired by English gardens, transformed his family residence into an unusual park. The park was arranged in a natural valley surrounded by gardens featuring architectural and floral details. Only local plants were used to enhance the inherent qualities of the existing landscape. This integrated landscape influenced the development of ‘landscape architecture’ as a discipline.
